“Seeds” is a high-concept piece exploring the creative process. This bold show open for CinemaKC taps into the experimental spirit of indie film-making. Was the client happy? This was the first time I ever had a client leave the room in the middle of the pitch and yell “Woopie!” in the hallway!

A Visual Allegory

The rugged individualism and experimental spirit of the indie film maker is at the heart of CinemaKC. They needed a show open that tapped into the creative process—from the kernel of an idea to the birthing of the project to the public release to the final platform. “Seed” documents this struggle using state-of-the-art technology and visionary creative. Much credit goes to the team at CinemaKC for having the bravery to make it happen and to Hint for funding it and providing the creative environment in which this kind of project could flourish.

The Graphics Package

To accompany the show open we also created a full show package consisting of lower thirds, bumps, mortices, active beds, and wipes. The slick design and motion was clean and modern, which balanced perfectly the minimal shapes which dominated the show open. Claudia Chagui’s excellent motion graphics work is on full display here.
